A summary of the webinar includes:

  • First application of O-PTIR, for submicron IR analysis of cultural heritage pieces;
  • Extremely small fragments from a Van Gogh painting, L’Arlésienne (portrait of Madame Ginoux) were analysed;
  • Clear detection of geranium lake pigments;
  • Complete stratigraphic analysis with O-PTIR, which failed with other state-of-the-art techniques.
